Coffee dates with Nathan

Nathan whenever he hears your name
“And you’re sure he doesn’t know I’m coming?” You ask as Kevin ushers you into a private room backstage.
“He has no idea.” Kevin ensures you. “Stay here, this is where the boys will come after and they’re on their last song now.”
Kevin leaves you, shutting the door behind him. You nervously wait. You haven’t seen Nathan in months. Each second feels like an hour, until finally you hear voices on the other side of the door. One, you recognized all too well. You’re almost shaking with excitement when the door opens.
“Oh my gosh,” Nathan says, clamping his hand over his mouth.
“Surprise!” You laugh.

Nathan driving over to your house to pick you up.
“Push!” Nathan shouts, trying to shove the ice skate onto your foot. After putting his on with hardly any trouble, he was bent over on the ground in front of you trying to get the second one on after five minutes of trying to do the first.
“I’m trying.” You laugh.
“On the count of three, push the hardest you can” He says. “One…two…three!”
You shove your foot as hard as you possibly can, as did Nathan with the skate. And with that your foot slides into place. “There it is!” Nathan sighs, wiping the sweat off his brow, despite the cold temperature outside. He laces up the straps before pulling you onto your feet. It takes you a minute to find your balance, but Nathan holds onto you, placing a sweet kiss on your cold cheek. Together, hand in hand, you walk over to the snowplowed path that leads to the ice-covered pond.
“I’m nervous” You mumble, cautiously stepping onto the ice, your grip on Nathan’s hand growing increasingly tight.
“I’ve got you,” Nathan whispers into your ear.
But as you both step out onto the ice, you realize that Nathan doesn’t have as much experience as you thought he did. His body begins wobbling from side to side, causing you to lose your balance. You both fall onto the ice, Nathan’s cheeks turning pink with embarrassment as your burst into laughs.
“How about we just go get some hot chocolate?” You smile.
